What main languages are spoken here?:

While the Åland Islands are officially part of Finland, the primary language here is Swedish. This is partly because of the very complicated history between Finland and Sweden.

What type of money is used here?:

In many shops, both euros (which are used in Finland) and Swedish krona are accepted. One euro is worth about $1.16, while one krona is worth about $0.11. This means that prices in krona look very expensive, even though the currencies are actually similar in value.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

While water costs about 2.00€ per bottle, we usually just filled up our water bottles in the sink!

What was the best meal this week?:

While we were riding the ferry, we bought dinner at the on board buffet. The meal was all-you-can-eat, and included things like potatoes, and different types of meat and fish. I really liked the fancy cheeses they offered with dessert!

What music did I listen to this week?:

To be honest, I have not slowed down long enough to listen to much music this week! When I am reading things for school, though, I enjoy listening to classical music.

What activity was the most fun this week?:

I really enjoyed riding on the ferry.
