When I first came to Finland, my friends warned me that October and November are the worst months for weather. They said that it is cold, dark and rainy, but there is not any snow yet. They were right! The sun rises around eight or nine o'clock in the morning, and sets at four in the afternoon. We only get about eight hours of sunlight.
Rovaniemi lies along the Arctic Circle. Right at the Arctic Circle is a small area where reindeer are kept. They are bigger than I imagined!
Rovaniemi has a whole museum dedicated to the outdoors called the Pike. It provides information about local plants and animals. I enjoyed seeing how different parts of the ecosystem work together, as well as the ways Finns take care of their natural resources.
