Today I walked through the largest park in Warsaw! There was so much to see, including local wildlife! There were friendly red squirrels everywhere eating nuts and asking for food. There were also groups of crows, ravens, pigeons and even peacocks! The peacocks were very beautiful and were gathered together sleeping on the side of a building.
I was at the park on a Sunday afternoon in the fall. The weather was beautiful. All of the leaves had started to turn red, orange and yellow. There were many people walking dogs (without leashes!) and young children playing on the playgrounds. It was very peaceful and calming to walk through the park. It really helped me appreciate all of the nature in this city.
Polish squirrels are a type of red squirrel. They have reddish-orange fur and fluffy large ears that stand straight up. They have a white belly! Their tails appear to be much larger and fluffier than squirrels found in the United States. They are also a little bit smaller in size, but still just as active.
