What main languages are spoken here?:

The most common language in Paris is French, which is a beautiful language that I'm trying hard to learn. I have also met many people who speak English, which makes daily life much easier. Even in small shops and public transport, I can always find people who speak English. Apart from English, I hear the languages Spanish and German often in passing conversations. It's much easier to learn multiple languages in Europe than in America, because so many countries are so close together here.

What type of money is used here?:

France uses euros, which are represented by this symbol: €, rather than the dollar sign. The conversion rate is very close: as I write this, 1 euro is the same as $1.06. This means that when I spend €10, I really spend $10.59, so I don't have to worry about having to spend too much more. If the conversion rate were higher, €10 could be the same as $12, or even $15, which would make everything here very expensive.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

The price of a bottle of water depends on where it's bought. In cafes and boulangeries (French bakeries), q bottles of water can cost up to €4. In grocery stores, however, €4 can buy two packs of bottles, making it much less expensive.
