Mate or a Latté?

Introduction:

Around the world, traditions are an important part of all cultures! From activities shared among people to festivals held once a year, Argentina is a country full of fiestas or celebrations. There is a holiday almost every other week!

The Argentine people also have daily traditions that are incredibly important - and usually, delicious. Here in Argentina one of the most popular traditions is the drinking of mate, a tea that is steeped in dry leaves. Hiking, studying, riding the bus, sitting in class, celebrations or casual gatherings always include the sharing of steaming mate

What tradition did I learn about?:

How is mate made? Do restaurants make it? Is there a food stand that sells it? The answer to these questions is "no." You usually cannot buy mate at a café or through a food cart along the street. You must prepare the mate by yourself with all the tools listed below:

-Mate cup usually made of wood and a bombilla (similar to a straw)

         -Hot water thermos

         -Mate holder

         -Sugar holder
