The Argentine people also have daily traditions that are incredibly important - and usually, delicious. Here in Argentina one of the most popular traditions is the drinking of mate, a tea that is steeped in dry leaves. Hiking, studying, riding the bus, sitting in class, celebrations or casual gatherings always include the sharing of steaming mate.
How is mate made? Do restaurants make it? Is there a food stand that sells it? The answer to these questions is "no." You usually cannot buy mate at a café or through a food cart along the street. You must prepare the mate by yourself with all the tools listed below:
-Mate cup usually made of wood and a bombilla (similar to a straw)
