Usually it is really fun biking with friends and being outside, but sometimes biking can be intense. I always have to be super-aware of my surroundings, and the green strip provided by the city does not always fit everyone that wants to use it. However, luckily, everyone is kind and respectful about space and waiting for your turn. Even though I am always sweaty after I bike to my classes, the trip is worth it for some fresh air!
In Europe, public transportation is supported and funded by the respective governments and the European Union. In Spain, municipal authorities make sure to take care of the buses and metros, while offering other options such as the bikes in Sevilla, so that people can get around in an environmentally-friendly way. Also being in a city, public transportation is the most affordable and reasonable way to get around. The number of options and the enduring popularity of public transportation is definitely connected to the city culture and to a belief that the environment needs to be protected.
