Well, I applied to a scholarship program called Fulbright, where if you are chosen, they send you to a different country to help teach English and, most importantly, to share cultural values with the people of that country. In this way, Fulbright scholarship recipients are able to share American culture with the people we meet abroad. When I return, I'll be able to share Colombian culture with people back home. Culture includes things like the kinds of food we eat, what we do for fun, what holidays we celebrate and how we celebrate them and what we do in our daily lives. These are all things that change in some way, big or small, when you visit another country. In the Fulbright program, everybody learns more about each other, and this fosters understanding. I wanted to come to Colombia because I really love Latin American culture, and I wanted to experience Bogotá, the massive capital of Colombia. This is still the beginning of my adventure, and I’m really glad you guys will now be joining me.
Hablamos pronto! (Talk to you soon!),
