I also was in charge of washing the dishes and if anything was broken at home, I helped my father to repair it.

What jobs do your parents have?:

My mom was a housewife, so she didn't have a job, and my father is a mechanical technician.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

School is Monday-Friday with morning classes from 8am-1pm and then afternoon classes from 3:30 pm - 6:30pm. On Wednesday and Fridays, we have short days for prayer and so people can go to church or mosque. Sometimes there are classes on the weekends, but this is more common for middle school and high school. 

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

I would go to school by myself and since it's close to my house I would walk. Most children go to school by themselves and they will walk, take a taxi, a motorcycle, or the bus. 

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I always go home to eat lunch. My favorite food is anything with chicken and potatoes!

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

In schol we mainly speak French for our lessons, but with friends we speak in Wolof. If you want to say hello in French, Salut or Bonjour is common, but some people can also say Coucou.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

There are a lot of different names and most of them are religious names. For girls you can find names like Amina, Aissata, Fatou, Fatma, or Sokhna.
