This week, I rode with friends and family in their cars. When I’m visiting my friends who do not have a car, we use a rideshare app called Bolt, which is just like Uber in the U.S. However, I prefer to ride with a driver I know personally, especially if I am unaware of the condition of my driver’s car. More often than not, the backseats do not have seatbelts. Yikes!
The most interesting place I visited this week was a farmer’s market called Bread Market. This was my second time attending! The organization changes locations each festival. In this location, I bought two slices of vanilla cake. They were phenomenal! I’m definitely planning on buying some more as a treat for myself later this week. Thank goodness they shared their number on the bag!
This week, one of my friends traveled to Lagos. He was supposed to travel directly from Lagos to Kaduna (the city where my dad is from!), but his flight was canceled. Instead, he had to rush to fly to Kano, another city a bit more north than Kaduna. He rode an okada (motorbike) so he would not miss that flight too! Once arriving in Kano, he drove down to Kaduna where he rode the train back to Abuja. All within four days! Getting around in Nigeria is not always straightforward.
