So far, the local Medellín government has invested very little into renovating the El Prado neighborhood or attempting to publicize its historic value for visitors to the city. While the historic homes of Casa Prado and the Aguila Descalza Theater are more well-known among Medellín locals, most of El Prado's cool old buildings remain hidden secrets to the public. Still, a local government-run organization called Memorias y Patrimonio de Medellín (Memories and Patrimony of Medellín) has put an effort into raising further awareness about the cultural heritage of the El Prado neighborhood, and even hosts cultural events in the neighborhood a few times each month. I'm hoping to check out one of their events in El Prado soon!
