How do Germans Prefer their Transportation?

In Marburg, I see lots of people walk everyday, regardless of the weather, and I also see a lot of people take the bus.

Although Marburg does not have any subways or metros, in other German cities I have been to they almost always had a subway transport. I do love the underground train mode of transport, as I found it to be very convenient and much faster! On the topic of other cities, to get to other cities from Marburg, people take trains, which is called the Deutsches Bahn (German Train). It is very well known to most Germans that everyone hates the DB. This is because it is never on time and gets canceled quite frequently. I have experienced many many issues with the trains, unfortunately, but I have also experienced really good trains as well. You never know what you're going to get!

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

When I first used the trains, I was so nervous and so confused. I had to ask many people for help, and I was lucky that everyone was nice. Within the first week of being in Marburg, I also had to learn the bus system. There was an app to see where and when the buses leave. At first, I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to find the bus stops, but eventually I got the hang of it. By now, I I have ridden the bus so frequently that I know the stops by memory. Still, I've made many mistakes. I once went on a bus to get back to my room, but instead I ended up forty minutes away! I never made that mistake again. Now, being here for over a month, I am very confident with the buses and trains in Marburg, and I'm even becoming more comfortable with the transportation systems elsewhere.
