The most exciting part of this expedition was the kayaking experience. In order to explore Antarctica closely and personally, there is really no better seat than the one in your own kayak where you are only inches above the surface. We navigated between icebergs and saw so much wildlife. Kayaking is a perfect way to slip into the blue and white beauty of the calm oceans around you.

As we kayaked through the ice cold waters, we spotted seals lazing on ice flows, humpback whales swimming under the blue waters and penguins jumping beside us. Watching the penguins zoom through the water, flipping and jumping around us, was incredible. Every time we came across these beautiful creatures, we learned and witnessed something new about them. The amazing thing about Antarctica is that it is very common to see many different kinds of wildlife and nature in one day.

Seeing a whale was slightly less common, but we still saw many whales. Whales were probably the most fascinating and elegant creatures that we came across on these kayak excursions. Whenever we spotted whales, everyone would go silent and remain still in our kayaks so that the whales would come near us. We continued to silently observe these creatures around us and listened to them splashing water.
