As our exciting journey together comes to an end, I am so grateful for the experiences that we have shared together. We got to meet the people of Botswana and learn about the country's wildlife. We also got to learn about Botswana's foods and cultures. We even got to see a little bit of the nearby country, South Africa! We learned that Botswana is the diamond capital of the world.
My favorite part of our journey was getting to interview Goabaone, the ten-year-old from Botswana. He introduced me to his favorite style of music, Amapiano (South African dance music), which is a style of music that has also become my favorite. It was a blast to learn about the cultures on the continent that my ancestors come from.
As a kid, I would have never imagined that I would get to live in a Southern African country for four months. But I did it! Even though I was scared that I would not get used to being away from the United States for so long, I was able to overcome my fears and find happiness in Botswana. Meeting the country's kind people like Goabaone and my good friend, Kennedy, made the experience so much more enjoyable.
Thank you all for letting me share my adventures with you! This was a great way for me to process everything that I have experienced.
