Planes, trains, buses, and cars in Geneva

Introduction:

Getting around is such an everyday task that we forget to consider that there are a lot of different ways to get to where we are going. Planes, trains, buses, cars, and even our own feet can bring us to new places. In Switzerland, people tend typically to use public transportation much more than people in many other countries. As a result, their system operates really well, with trains that are generally clean and which experience very few delays.

Swiss transportation reflects the Swiss people’s environmentally-friendly culture, while the quiet and calm of commuting reflects their reserved nature.

How do people get around?:

In the country of Switzerland, people like to take trains in between cities, large and small. The Swiss train system is really vast, and you can get a train even to very small cities in the mountains. Although there are two large airports in the cities of Geneva and Zurich, the Swiss much prefer to us their train system for internal travel. In addition to being easy to navigate, the train services allow young people (those under 25 years old) to travel for free after 7pm! This is really helpful for students in college who like to go home over the weekends. This way, they can get home quickly and cheaply to see their families.

In the city of Geneva, there are a lot of ways to get around.
