Right now, the weather in Nepal is changing from the wet monsoon season to the drier winter season. When I first arrived a month ago, it would rain at least once a day and temperatures were often in the 90's. Now, however, the weather is transitioning towards the drier and cooler winter season. While it has rained some this week, it is raining much less than a few weeks ago, and the weather is (thankfully) getting cooler and less humid.
I have spent my week in Kathmandu taking time off between field work, so I have not seen much wildlife. Common sights in the city include street dogs, many different birds (people often feed birds on their balconies here in the city) and once in a while a rhesus macaque. There is even a temple here, Swayambhu, which is also called "Monkey Temple" because of how many macaques live there! Besides that, I have spent a lot of my week editing photos of rhinos, elephants and gharials from Chitwan – unfortunately, no pangolins yet!
