Irish Breakfast

Introduction:

I was unsure what I would be eating during my study abroad trip, but I knew I would be eating something. I was surprised to see that it wasn't too far removed from what I would eat from home, but that's probably because my family is Irish-American. One key difference with the food in Ireland is that everything is rich in taste. I like to savor most of my meals and just enjoy them here. I find myself making most of my meals here, and it didn't go too well in the beginning... look at the picture of the burnt chicken nuggets! But now, I am accustomed to making meals, and I make Irish breakfast about two to three times a week, because it is just that good.

What food did I try?:

I tried a fried egg and rashers (Irish bacon). I had toast with it, too, but who hasn't had that? I like to add my own little touch to the meal. I add strawberry jam to my toast, even though butter is more commonly added to toast for Irish breakfast. It tastes amazing either way!

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I was surprised, because I did not like to eat eggs that often when I was at home, but that has changed now. I didn't know that eggs could taste so good when you change the way you cook them or when they are made in a different country. I like to enjoy every meal I have here to the fullest.

How is the food prepared?:

It's a very simple preparation.
