Hello, everyone! I hope you are enjoying the arrival ofsSpring. How is your garden going? In Togo, we can feel a change in the seasons, too. It is beginning to rain heavily. Farmers are hoeing the fields and planting their crops. It is bittersweet for me to see the beginning of the rainy season. It is the last time I will see the landscape transform here. In July, I will be saying au revoir (goodbye) to Togo.
My journey with all of you is coming to a close as well. I have really enjoyed writing to you and our video calls together! It is special to write to you all during this period in my Peace Corps journey. Do you remember how long a Peace Corps Volunteer lives in their host community? Two years! I began writing to you all when it was more than half over. Describing the food, nature and traditions of my host community gave me the chance to reflect on my experience. When you have asked me questions, I thought back on the many stages of my garden, the meals my host mom has cooked and the ceremonies I have attended. Thank you all for giving me a chance to think about my experience in new ways!
In this last journal, I want to share some reflections on Togo, the Peace Corps and my personal journey.
