A lifetime of memories

As a neutral country with low poverty rates, Switzerland is a great place to study how global cooperation can reduce disparities in education and health. This is why I am glad that I had the chance to study in Switzerland. I studied global health and development policy while abroad and researched humanitarian work. Through the Gilman scholarship and SIT’s comparative study model, I learned about public health systems, human rights issues and social justice models. I even got to spend eight days in Morocco to further expand on what I had learned. My goal is to be a health worker and to work, specifically, in order to create sustainable communities. As the humanitarian capital of the world, Geneva was the perfect place to pursue that goal. My dream is to use my travels and what I learned in Switzerland (and Morocco) to make a difference in the world. I want to foster cultural understanding and a mutual commitment to protecting our planet's health and to respecting those who live on it. My time studying abroad was not only a time of learning and growing, but a time when I made a lifetime of memories that I will forever cherish!
