The weather during my first week in Switzerland was clear and crisp. It was usually cloudy and overcast in the mornings, and by afternoon, either it would clear up or start lightly raining. While it was cold, it was mostly in the 30s or 40s (Fahrenheit), so it wasn't as cold as I expected (I thought it would be in the negative degrees). It felt icy for me, though, because Texas's temperature had still been in the sixties at the time that I left in January. At the end of the week, it starting snowing in Switzerland.
Most of the animals that I saw in my first week were pets. My host family had a rabbit named Pom-Pom. I also saw dogs and cats, and birds such as ducks, geese and swans.
I really liked the Swiss parks. The trees were so tall and slim compared to the full, bushy juniper cedars that grow in the Texas Hill Country where I live. The parks had nice paths and tables to eat at. There were lots of children running and playing, as well as people taking their dogs on walks.
