The weather is consistently hot in Salvador. Almost every day it rains very hard at one point, but not for long. We are now in the Spring season, which means the temperature is rising. As a native New Yorker who is accustomed to cold winters, Salvador always feels hot or at the very least, warm. However, if you were a local Bahian, like my host mother, you might complain that it's too cold.
I saw little monkeys running on the power lines and bats flying throughout the trees. Every day, I see dogs, either stray or pets, including the dog I live with. There are many birds here, including pigeons and other colorful birds. Two of my friends rescued small, brightly colored birds and took them home.
At the beach near my home, there is a section of the beach that has large rocks which forms a natural pool in the ocean. It is beautiful!
