From Galicia to Lisbon: A Journey Through Atlantic Cultures

Nata primarily consists of a crust filled with an eggy custard that is beyond delicious. It is a must-try!

In addition to Lisbon, we also booked tours to visit Sintra and Cascais, which are 30 minutes away from Lisbon. Sintra is known for its many castles, which attracts hundreds of tourists to visit yearly, and Cascais is famous for its beaches. We also tried two more desserts called quejiada (which is less sweet) and travesseiros (a very sweet but delicious pillowly heaven). My tour guide literally translated travesseiros as pillows. "You must try the pillow!" he said.

John and I definitely ended our trip quite exhausted because visting so many places requires a lot of energy. When we returned to Lugo, we were finally able to relax. I especially needed it because I got sick in Lisbon after a torrential downpour of rain hit Cascais. What bad timing! However, I can gladly recommend all of you to visit Portugal as well one day. It's a must-visit destination!
