Savoring the Ocean's Bounty: A Culinary Journey in Galicia

Introduction:

In my opinion, Galician food is one of the best that I have ever tried! Since the region is located next to the Atlantic Ocean, fresh seafood is often on the menu. I'm a seafood lover so I was quick to try what many of the teachers and students were recommending me to eat: pulpo (octopus).

What food did I try?:

Galician octopus is very famous throughout Spain. Since Galicians are absoutely proud of their pulpo, my curiosity led my friends and I to spend the day in A Coruña, which is a port city located in the north of Lugo. Right in the center of the city is a restuarant called "A Taberna de Cunquiero," which is known for cooking up delicious Galician food for lunch and dinner. We ordered the pulpo as well as langostinos (prawns) since it was highly recommended by the waiter. After our main meal, we had coffee and hot chocolate along with slices of orange cake and tarta de requesón (Galician cheesecake).

How did I feel when I tried it?:

Immediately upon trying it, I fell in love with both dishes. It was incredibly tasty and well-cooked. Both octopus and prawns can be difficult to chew if they're overcooked, but this wasn't the case.
