Tschau (Hello)! My name is Jenny Giannini, I am 22 years old, and I am from outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Growing up, I loved to spend time outside and with animals. I enjoyed vacationing at the beach with my family and playing at my friend's farms.
For college, I studied biochemistry and molecular biology at Gettysburg College. At Gettysburg, I spent a lot of time doing genetics research on a small invertebrate worm called C. elegans and was also able to study abroad in the Bahamas, Nicaragua and Australia. It was in college that I realized how much I love traveling and conducting research.
Eager to continue, I applied and was lucky enough to receive a research grant from the German-American Fulbright Commission to study the genetics of stem cells in a lab in Berlin, Germany at the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine. So far, I have been living and working in Berlin for three months and I have really enjoyed my time here. As I continue living and researching in Germany, I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you and learning about your lives as well!
