Getting Around in Israel

During important holidays like the one that is going on right now (Rosh Hashana, or the Jewish New Year), everything is closed. Once all the holidays are over, I'll continue exploring!

How do people get around?:

Usually, people travel most often by bus. It's cheap, it's available seven days a week and it's a quick way to get around. Usually a one way ticket costs around 5.90 shekels, which would be the equivalent of 1.69 U.S. dollars!

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

The first time I took the bus was when I went with one of my friends to the mall. Luckily, the bus drivers knew English. They were very kind and patient with us, too. It was a very pleasant bus ride, and I felt very safe. Plus, I got to see some more of the city of Haifa along the way!

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

In Haifa, everyone is busy and minds their own business. Bus transporation is perfect for most because of how quickly it enables one to get around. I've noticed that a lot of kids and teenagers use the bus, too. It's what they use to get home.

As far as the environment, becoming ecofriendly is not one of Israel's main goals, but from what I have been told, it is definitely working towards it. Maybe in the future Israel will have electric cars, too!
