Studying abroad with NYU offers a different experience than most colleges. Instead of going to a foreign university, you are going to NYU in Paris. There are NYU professors, an NYU academic building, NYU dorms, etc. There are also opportunities to meet people outside of the NYU community. You have the ability to take classes at Paris Universitie such as the Sorbonne and Science Po.

NYU Paris has a lot of great opportunities to integrate students with life in Paris as well as with the other students at NYU Paris. We have a lot of cultural programming opportunities to see the Opera, the ballet, walking tours of artists' work, and even a few trips around France. At the beginning of each semester, we go on a boat cruise around the Seine.

Since NYU Paris is so small, it is easier to meet people there, but what about meeting local Parisians? With studying abroad, it is important to integrate yourself within the community so that you yourself can start to feel like a local. My first goal upon arriving in Paris was to find a boulangerie to get my sandwich from each day, so that one day the shopkeepers would consider me a regular. Although at first I tried many different boulangeries, one day I was walking towards a new bus stop I had never taken before and my nose caught this wonderful smell.
