Several friends and I decided we needed to see more of Ireland. The only way to do this was by renting a car and driving ourselves around. There were nine of us in total, meaning we had to rent two cars. We picked the cars up on Friday afternoon and brought them back on Monday afternoon. The price to rent a car in Ireland for three days was €157 euros. This is not too bad of a price, since we got the most insurance you could possibly get. Afterall, it was our first time driving on the left side of the road with the steering wheel on the opposite side of the car. We wanted to make sure any accidents would be taken care of.
Our first day we traveled to the Dingle Pennisula, specifically to the town of Dingle. The pennisula is located in the southwestern part of Ireland. Unfortunately, Ireland's weather made itself known with all the rain. We did see a pretty cool oratory which is a small building shaped like an upturned boat. People are not sure what this building's purpose was. Some think it may have been a chapel or a church, or some other type of place of worship. Others believe it could have been a place to honor the dead during a funeral.
Later that evening we traveled through Killarney National Park.
