After spending a couple months here, I've gotten to make a few Irish friends! Matthew is 22. He is in his fourth year of college studying Politics and International Relations. It's been fun seeing the ways we're pretty similar but also the differences between us.
My name is Matthew John Geraghty.
I live in Dublin City Centre near the Temple Bar area. I've only just recently moved into a standard two-bedroom flat (or apartment) with my friend. But, I'm originally from Dundalk. It's around 40 miles north of Dublin. My family home is a dormer bungalow style house that my parents moved into in the 90s. It has a lovely garden and sits very close to the seaside.
Along with my parents, I have one older brother and sister. My granny has also lived with us for the last eight years. I am the baby of the family, and there is around a 15 year age gap between me and my siblings. I also now have two nieces and a nephew who I love to visit often. We're very close-knit and have a lot of craic (or good fun)!
