Dublin Does Global

Introduction:

Most dishes here in Ireland consist of a mix of potatoes, stews, sausages and seafood. While I have tried a large variety of Irish ingredients, I really wanted to explore all the international places in downtown Dublin. The Celtic Tiger period refers to a large economic boom that took place in Ireland from the mid-1990s to the mid-2000s, and this boom led to a large influx of immigrants. I am reminded of Houston's diverse food scene (and large immigrant populataion) when I walk around Dublin's city centre, and I love popping into any international food place that piques my interest. Notably, resturants post their menus on the outside of their storefronts here in Dublin. Whenever my friends and I can't decide, we just walk around looking at their menus until we find a place that looks good.

What food did I try?:

So far, I've eaten Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, Latin, Tex-Mex and Irish food! However, my favorite thing to get so far has been the burritos at a restaurant called Mama's Revenge! I've tried a lot of different Latin/Tex-Mex places around Dublin, and Mama's Revenge has felt the most like a home away from home.

As a three-peat customer, I've varied my burritos greatly each time. I usually get a regular sized burrito. It comes wrapped in a white flour tortilla, and you can pretty much put anything inside.
