I used to think that all the problems that I talked about were unique to the United States, but this conversation taught me that similar issues do in fact exist in other parts of the world. Although we focused on many negative aspects of the United States and of Singapore that day, I valued this conversation as an opportunity to uncover the similarities between myself and Chelsea and Kirthana. I believe the fact we shared these experiences is an important lesson, which would be difficult to learn unless you travel to other countries.
