From what I can remember, the weather was very hot and humid when I first landed in Singapore. Since Singapore is located near the Equator, the weather is always warm and tropical. To give you some idea of how warm the weather was, I never needed a sweater for the whole time I was living in Singapore!
I saw a lot of local animals during my first week in the city. Singapore has several native species of birds, and during the night, lots of other small creatures would come out! So, I would see lots of small lizards and snails around at night, especially after rainfall.
This week, I visited a few different islands that were very close to the shore of Singapore. One of the islands was called Kusu in the Hokkien Dialect and translates to "Tortoise Island " While on Kusu island, I saw a "tortoise pit" filled with turtles!
