I am close to the equator and it is so hot and very dry here! My body is having a hard time adjusting. I am used to Boston's cold, snowy April weather. The Zambezi River creates its own rich ecosystem, but south of here in Botswana where we are headed it will be very dry. My team is still biking north of here in Zambia where it is quite humid.
Vervet monkeys are everywhere, and very smart! I saw zebra moms and babies walking around town, and there are very large crocodiles where we are staying. There is a hippo as well, but I haven't seen her yet. Because of the wildlife we cannot go out at night, and sometimes certain walkways are closed because the crocodiles who live here are massive and can eat humans. Although, hippos are more dangerous.
I went on a safari walk in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park which sits on the edge of the famous Zambezi River. Local guides showed us so many birds and bugs, and antelope.
