Growing Up in Denmark

It's a red brick home with one side painted white surrounded by vast land. While her grandfather used to raise ferrets on the farm, she only had a dog and two cats growing up. Her family doesn't use the land to farm, except for the occasional potatoes, so they rent it out to their neighbors!

What chores do you have at home?:

Just the usual chores, like making her own lunch for school, emptying the dishwasher and folding the laundry. She also has strong memories of washing the outside of the windows with her mom.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Her mom worked as a nurse when she was growing up, but now she does more administrative work at the hospital. Her dad works as the product manager for a local wind turbine company.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

It starts at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m. She typically stayed at an after school program until 3:00 p.m.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

She biked to school either by herself or with her older brother when he was attending the same school.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

Lunch was in the classroom they were taught in. They had a cafeteria, but they would only go to buy small snacks since students always brought their own lunch from home. Her favorite food was cake, specifically an oatcake with whip cream.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

School was taught in Danish. She started learning English when was around 10 years old, but it's now beginning to be taught at an earlier age.
