Serbia is warming up this time of year! After months of gray skies and rain, I was ready for the sun to come out. It was sunny and warm during the past week, meaning spring is arriving early. Unlike Hawaii, Serbia is quite cool during the winter months, but it only snowed twice, which is quite different from the weather ten years ago.
In the streets of Novi Sad, you often encounter at a stray cat or dog sleeping under a car or lounging in the park. On my walks, I bring cat and dog food to make sure these animals are well-fed. Usually, they are chubby because people in Serbia take good care of their strays. I also saw some woodpeckers and ducks flying across the Danube River in my city. Serbia has such a diverse range of mammals, birds, fish and butterflies!
