I traveled around 106 miles this week to the mountain! Usually, driving takes a little longer in Serbia than in America because in the U.S., we have a lot of fast, straight highways. Serbia is working on building more of these, but since it is so mountainous, you have to drive more slowly.
During my journey in Serbia, I have traveled to many cities and town in this small but stunning country. Serbia is about the same size as South Carolina. The Hawaiian islands wouldn't fit in Serbia! I have been lucky to travel to the surrounding countries, such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, and Bosnia and Herzegovinia. During my winter break, I also visited Morocco, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium!
My city is quite small, so you can walk everywhere! A lot of people own bikes, so you'll have to dodge the many cyclists when you're walking in Novi Sad. Most places are only thirty minutes away on foot, but you can take the bus everywhere too. There is a new train that opened a month before I arrived, and you can travel from Novi Sad to Belgrade, the capital city, in under one hour. Taxis are also quite inexpensive here and can help if you're running late!
