This week, I went as far north in Delhi as Khan Market (for lunch with a friend), as far south as Gurgaon (to go ice-skating), and as far east as Noida (for a concert).
On this journey, I have mostly stayed within the city of Delhi due to some visa paperwork issues connected to my grant. Now that all of that paperwork is settled, I'm excited to take trips to South India (Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Goa) or to even fly internationally to nearby countries like Sri Lanka, Thailand or Japan.
To get from one place to another, I rely heavily on tuk-tuks (small, open-air cars), taxis, and my own two feet! My roommates always yell at me for dragging them out for walks in the heat when we could pay a few rupees for a ride.
This week, I had to visit the Foreigners' Registration Office with my roommate. It wasn't a fun visit (doing work in a hot room is never fun!), but I loved seeing other foreigners in Delhi and hearing about the places they came from. We met people from Germany, the Congo, China, Thailand and the UK!
