Hello, my name is Karan Takhar. I grew up in Potomac, Maryland and recently graduated from Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and a minor in economics. I love to play sports such as soccer and tennis and have been taking full advantage of the incredible soccer ("futbol") culture in New Delhi! I also love to listen to music, watch movies and read the autobiographies of entrepreneurs (people who start businesses). My favorite book so far has been "Shoe Dog" by Phil Knight, where he talks about his journey founding the biggest sports apparel company in the world: Nike! Guess how his journey began? With a trip around the globe at the age of 24!
Travel has been an enjoyable and embedded part of my life, and I am currently living abroad for one year on a Fulbright research scholarship. So far, I have very much enjoyed immersing myself in a new culture and meeting a ton of new people. The experience has definitely widened my perspective and I look forward to sharing these great travels with a classroom of young, high-energy and curious students! Let's go!
