Our News

What main languages are spoken here?:

The main language here is English. However, Australians do have prominent accents that are much different than our own American accents. For example, to say razor blades as an Australian might, try saying "raise up lights" quickly.

What type of money is used here?:

The Australian dollar (AUD) is what is used here. One U.S. dollar buys $1.48 AUD, so technically if you came here with your U.S. money, you'd have a bit more money! What would you buy?

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs about a dollar here. This is pretty similar to the United States, but since the U.S. dollar is worth more the cost is technically cheaper.

What was the best meal this week?:

The best meal I had this week was a burger from a spot called Igloo Road House. The burger size was massive, and my partner and I couldn't finish all the food despite it being delicious. See the picture I've attached!

What music did I listen to this week?:

This week I listened to Elton John and other music from the 1980's a lot. Australians seem to really enjoy that era of American music. It plays on the radio constantly. In fact, one of the most popular radio stations in Melbourne is an 80's hits-only station which never features modern artists such as Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande.
