This week, the weather was mild for winter. On sunny days, the high was 51 degrees Fahrenheit, and on cloudy days, it was 40 degrees. I set out to enjoy the sunny days this week with friends by traveling to Mont Mézenc, a nearby mountain. While there is no snow in the valley around Le Puy, there was lots of snow in the mountains.
In town, I saw cats, dogs, and pigeons. There are also a few songbirds that haven't migrated for winter that I enjoy seeing when I go for walks. While walking around the countryside, I saw horses, cows, and sheep. You never have to walk too far to find farm animals in the Haute-Loire! In the mountains, I saw more farm animals as well as hawks perched on trees.
The coolest thing I saw this week were sled dogs! I have never seen a team of sled dogs in person before. While I was all bundled up against the cold, some dogs were lying in the snow, taking a nap. I thought they were very cute.
