This week, I listened to French folk music at a bal trad (traditional ball), and I heard American rock and blues music at another type of retro group dance and concert called "Swing." It was really fun to hear classic American songs in the heart of France.
This week's most fun activity is a tie between hiking Mont Mézenc and dancing the lindy hop at the swing dance.
I read Christmas and New Year letters from my friends and family in the U.S. It takes around 15 days or more for mail to travel from Le Puy to the States! I also read "Sortir," the regional magazine for shows, sports, and other fun activities around the Haute-Loire.
While some people might not consider dancing a sport, I definitely had a good work out while dancing this week. Now I can barely feel my legs! I also saw lots of people cross country skiing, snowshoeing, kite snowbarding, and dog sledding.
The 'yellow vest' protests continue in France, but the number of people participating has decreased significantly. Supporters still put yellow vests on their car dashboards. This means I still see a lot of yellow around town.
