Hi! Bonjour! Salaam Aleekum! My name is Kathryn and I'm a college student studying international development, French and Wolof in Senegal. Join me on my journey to discover the Land of Teraanga!

As I leave my journey in Senegal and Ndiaganiao, I am so thankful for these past four months. Come hear my reflections on this journey, what I've learned and the challenges I've faced.
In Senegal, the baobab is a sacred tree that is illegal to cut down. Baobabs form the center of spiritual beliefs, provide food and shade during hot Senegalese days and are gigantic!
I got to visit The Gambia during my program's fall break. It's the smallest country in mainland Africa! I got to pet monkeys and crocodiles for the first time and take a ferry over a wide river!
