¡Hola! ¿Cómo estás? Hello, how are you? My name is Kayleigh Giles, and I am so excited to share my journey with you all. I am 22 years old, and I am originally from Hamden, Connecticut. I am currently living abroad in the beautiful city of Madrid, Spain. I will be here for one year to teach English to high school students.
Before I moved to Spain, I started studying Spanish in the second grade and continued all the way through college. I recently graduated from Villanova University in Pennsylvania, where I studied Spanish and Education to become a Spanish teacher. I have always loved learning about different cultures and traveling to new places, so I am grateful that I was awarded a Fulbright Teaching Grant in Spain. With my grant, I am able to learn about the culture of Spain and share my love of language with students just like you.
I decided to move to Spain because Spanish was always my favorite class in school, and I wanted to learn more about the place where the language originated. I look forward to learning about Spanish culture by exploring the city of Madrid and speaking with the people who live here. I hope to visit monuments and museums, eat delicious food at restaurants, and take part in traditional celebrations. I can’t wait for you to follow along on this journey. Let’s explore together!
