One of the first things I noticed about the city of Granada is how clean it is. From the public sidewalk to the lesser-used alleyways, city employees are constantly collecting litter off the ground and emptying the multitude of trash cans around the city.
I learned about the trash collection service in Granada. It is a very efficient system that keeps the city clean and makes walking around more enjoyable. Since the majority of people walk about in the city's center, it’s a good thing this area is always clean!
The community in Granada has this need because the center of the city is densely populated. With the majority of the population living in and around the city center, keeping the public spaces clean helps the citizens stay healthy. At the apartment building where my home stay is, trash is collected once a week on Thursdays. My host mom leaves our trash can outside the door of the apartment, and a maintenance worker collects it from there. He then takes the trash out to the street behind our building where public workers collect it.
