The weather in the Amazon is fairly predictable. Generally, in the mornings, it is sunny with clear skies and incredibly hot! As the day progresses, the clouds roll in, bringing strong, torrential rain. Never forget to bring an umbrella to school!
This week, I saw vultures and storks. In the city, it's very common to see vultures circling high in the air.
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was the small lake in the middle of the jungle! The water was fairly clear and I enjoyed a swim to cool down after a long hike.
I learned about the efforts the local zoo is doing to reintroduce various types of birds back into the wild. This helps repopulate the region with birds that are endangered in these areas.
