In terms of environment, Spain does focus on being environmentally friendly. In most of the hotels and dorms, they have energy saving mode for lights. If you want to turn on the light, you must insert your hotel key card into the slot to turn on the lights. Once you leave, you must take the key card with you and once you take out the card, the lights automatically turns off.
I've also discovered that in grocery stores, you must pay for grocery bags. I think doing this is a great way to decrease the usage of plastic, and the law influences people to recycle and bring a reusable bag.
