Let's Go For a Walk!

Introduction:

Hey, students! Want to know how people in Spain usually get around? Let's take a look at the various options I've encountered while living in Valencia!

How do people get around?:

Everyone in Spain walks everywhere! If someone needs to get to another city, one will use the metro (train) or drive. If a destination is fairly close, however, the people will walk! Yesterday I walked almost a total of ten miles exploring the city, and I was so exhausted when I got to my room. If you do not have good walking shoes, then your feet are going to regret it.

How did I feel when I tried this way of getting around?:

It is fun walking everywhere in Spain because there are small stores everywhere. There are small cafes and shops that you can enter and buy souvenirs and supplies. However, all the walking can get very exhausting, especially when you are not used to walking everywhere. Back at home, I drive everywhere, and I love my car, so walking everywhere is definitely something I have to get used to. Plus it's good exercise for me.

Is this way of getting around connected to the culture and environment, How?:

I would say walking is connected to the culture and environment. In terms of culture, the majority of the streets in Valencia are very old and narrow, and there are not a lot of lanes for cars.
