The Kids of Ecuador

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

My mom walks me to school in the mornings because it is only five miuntes from my house. I am not allowed to go to school by myself.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

Since we get out at  one p.m., my school does not serve lunch. Instead, I eat what my mom makes at home for lunch.  My favorite meal is when she makes llapingachos (cheesy potatoes patties) or patacones (fried plaintains).

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak Spanish at school. Hola is how you say hello in Spanish.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Galo, Maria, Juan, Marisol, Luis and Martin are some common names.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

My favorite subjects in school are math and science. I am very good at them.

What is your homework like?:

Sometimes my homework is reading something and answering qustions based on what I read. For math I have to solve problems.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

After school I like to go home and play my video games, watch YouTube or  hang out with my friends. My favorite sport to watch is futbol (soccer), but I don't play much.

Who is your favorite famous person?:

I don't really have a favorite famous person. I like many futbol players on Ecuador's team.
