Greek Orthodox churches dot the “skyline” of Pano Polemidia, rising taller than most other structures in this small community. Greek Orthodox churches are similarly common in other Greek-Cypriot towns and cities. So, too, are the bakeries that "cater to" name days and other cultural traditions, and some (like Zorbas) are even open 24/7. In this way, the local landscape (or cityscape, to be more accurate) reflects the religious and culinary traditions practiced here!
