I traveled over 2,000 miles to get from Chicago to Oaxaca City. When I landed, I needed to change my winter wear into clothes for the sun and warmth. Oaxaca City is higher in elevation than Chicago, meaning that Oaxaca City is literally closer to the sun. Chicago was snowy when I left, but Oaxaca is warm and dry.
