3,700 Meters in the Sky! The Famous Mount Rinjani

This week, I traveled to the island of Lombok to hike Mount Rinjani with my friend, Annie. Rinjani is a famous mountain and active volcano in Indonesia. It took three days to hike!

Watch out--this plant stings!
800 years ago, the volcano erupted with lots of lava! Over time, the lava became hard, and water filled the middle of the volcano. Now, the center is a lake, but there are areas around it that still have lava coming out!
Lunch: potatoes, noodles and vegetables
On our way down the mountain, there were many hot springs. Swimming in these hot springs was like swimming in a hot tub!
